Guide for KINGDOM HEARTS - HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX (1)

Episode 1

Sora, Donald, and Goofy arrive in the Gorge, where they are accosted by Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed, before being left alone. Before exploring this first area, take a minute to enter the Abilities section of the menu and see what Lion Sora can do. It is also important to point out that Drive Forms are unavailable in this World.

There is a save point in the Gorge, as well as three round containers that act as this World's chests. Open all three of them for the Savannah Map, a Dark Gem, and a Mythril Stone (Treasures #1-3). Exit to the east to reach an area called the Elephant Graveyard.

Fight off a pair of Living Bone Heartless to save Nala, then begin to explore the Elephant Graveyard. The Aerial Knocker shows up frequently here as well.

Directly to the north is a Frost Gem (Treasure #4). To the south is an AP Boost (Treasure #7). Run along the path to the east, and as it curves to the north Sora can find a Mythril Shard (Treasure #8). Continue towards the exit at the northeast corner for a Bright Stone (Treasure #6). Ascend the ramp to the left, near the elephant skull, and take the Mythril Stone (Treasure #5) from the corner. Use the only exit to reach The Savannah.

There are no chests or crowns in this area, but Sora can fight several groups of Heartless. Leave through the north exit to reach Pride Rock to re-unite with Nala, and meet Rafiki. Before leaving, investigate the area for some treasure, namely the Pride Rock Map, a Mythril Stone, and a Serenity Crystal (Treasures #9-11).

Attempting to leave Pride Rock activates a scene. Sora learns that Pete is in the Pride Lands, advising the evil king Scar. With Nala's help, Sora and the gang leave Pride Rock in search of Simba.

Cross The Savannah and use the southeast exit to reach Wildebeest Valley, where Sora learns the Dash Ability, because Lion form isn't fast enough apparently. The treasures here can be a bit difficult to explain without the minimap. Just remember that the entrance to the valley is in the north.

From the entrance to the valley, Sora can see an Energy Stone (Treasure #12) directly ahead to the south. Move to the west wall (to the right from the chest) and head south to reach a Mythril Stone (Treasure #15). Head east now to find an AP Boost (Treasure #13) behind one of the standing rocks. Move south into the open area of the valley for a Mythril Gem (Treasure #14), and a Lucid Gem (Treasure #16).

The next area is the Wastelands, which is a simple pathway through the desert. There are three treasures: a Mythril Shard, a Serenity Gem, and a Mythril Stone (Treasures #17-19). The end of this pathway leads to the Jungle.

Open the first treasure for a Serenity Crystal (Treasure #22), then ascend the ramp and turn around to find a Serenity Gem (Treasure #20). Continue up the path for a Mythril Stone (Treasure #21). The end of the path leads to the Oasis and a scene with Simba. Quickly return to the Jungle to save Timon and Pumbaa.

With that out of the way, Sora can now explore the Oasis. Kumop's Moogle Shop has new weapons for Donald and Goofy, the Lord's Broom, and Dreamcloud, respectively. There is a large treasure over by Simba that grants Sora the Oasis Map (Treasure #23). Near the waterfall is a second large treasure and a small treasure, and Sora can open them both to receive a second set of Torn Pages and an AP Boost (Treasures #24-25).

Speak to Simba to Cheer Him Up, add Mufasa to the Journal, and receive the Circle of Life Keyblade. The Shaman Heartless spawns in the Pride Lands from this point on. Take Simba and return to Pride Rock for some scenes with Scar. Enter The King's Den for a battle.

Boss: The Hyenas

Defending Timon and Pumbaa is easier than it sounds. Stay near them and attack whatever Hyena is closest. Don't chase after the enemies if they go flying.

Occasionally a Guide for KINGDOM HEARTS - HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX (2) Call Over! prompt will appear. Use it when a Hyena is stationary to have Pumbaa tackle it.

Chase after Simba and Scar by using the tunnel to the east.

Boss: Scar

Scar's first trick is to pounce on Sora, but this is easily broken by using the Guide for KINGDOM HEARTS - HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX (4) Counter Reaction Command.

After that, Scar gets difficult. He has extensive control over some magic elements and will make good use of the open arena to cause as much damage as possible. It is more important to stay on the move, and wait for Scar to stop moving before launching a combo or two.

Defeating Scar unlocks a second Fire Element, upgrading Fire to Fira. Four new entries are added to the Album, and a new Tournament is unlocked at Olympus Coliseum.

Episode 2

Returning to the Pride Lands isn't exactly as happy as Sora would expect, especially considering The Ghost of Scar is present. Approach the top of the rock for a scene with Nala, then enter The King's Den. Sora learns the Running Tackle ability, then heads to Rafiki for another scene.

Cross the Savannah to the Elephant Graveyard, where Sora needs to chase down and defeat the hyenas to get them to talk. Running Tackle is practically required to complete this, as the hyenas will do nothing but run away, and they are faster than Sora. I also found that casting Magnet was useful to stop them moving, but it only works for a few seconds.

Return to the Oasis next for a scene with Simba, then automatically be returned to Pride Rock. Use the save point in the Stone Hollow, then head to The Savannah for a boss battle.

Boss: Groundshaker

Start by hammering that Guide for KINGDOM HEARTS - HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX (6) button to Leap out of the way of the giant Heartless' stomp attacks. then again with Guide for KINGDOM HEARTS - HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX (7) Fend to stun it. Lock on to its eye and perform some aerial combos to do damage while you can.

Sora will now be able to Leap up to the back of the Heartless, where the core is located in the form of a shaman. Attack the mask that it wears to deal damage, avoiding the lightning strikes as best you can.

Repeat this process of attacking the head and then the mask until the Heartless is defeated.

All the usual Journal updates appear, and Sora's Thundara upgrades to Thundaga, which opens a new Chapter at Atlantica. A new Episode is added to Hollow Bastion at this time as well. You unlock an Achievement.

If Sora has completed Episode 2 in all the Disney Worlds, then there are only two places to go: Twilight Town, and The World That Never Was. Twilight Town is the better target, but it is locked behind a new Gummi Route, Assault of the Dreadnought.

Puzzle Pieces

There are 10 Puzzle Pieces across the Pride Lands. The following information will guide you through getting all the Puzzle Pieces in order, however, there will be some backtracking.

Land at the Stone Hollow, then exit to Pride Rock. The first crown is off in the northern corner but is too high for Lion Sora to reach from the ground. Climb to the top of this area and jump off the upper level to reach the crown (Piece #1).

Climb back up and enter The King's Den for the next crown, which is along the wall leading towards the Peak (Piece #2).

Cross the Savannah to the southeast to reach the Wildebeest Valley. There is a crown immediately to the east of the starting point (Piece #3), and there is another crown by a dead tree in the wide open section to the south (Piece #4).

Leave the Wildebeest Valley and head back to the Savannah. Take the southwestern exit to reach the Elephant Graveyard and two more crowns. Follow the path along the southern wall to find the first crown (Piece #5) near a small volcano. You will need to use the ramp just north of it as well as the Dash Ability to gain enough momentum and height to reach it. After collecting this crown, move in a clockwise direction around the outside of the area to find another crown along the northern wall (Piece #6).

Again, cross the Savannah to get back to the Wildebeest Valley, then south into the Wastelands. There are two crowns along this serpentine path that are pretty obvious (Pieces #7-8).

In the Jungle, there is one more crown. You can see it as soon as the screen transitions, but you need to move past and jump from the higher ledge to the east of the crown to reach it (Piece #9).

The final crown is in the Oasis, in front of the waterfall. Sora needs to climb the small ledges to the east. This is a bit of a difficult jump; you need to be using Dash when jumping to reach the crown, but there is very little space. You want to start from as far east as possible to get the timing right. It is the last crown of the Pride Lands (Piece #10).
