Morgan City, Berwick, Assumption authorities report arrests on drug-related charges (2024)

Berwick and Morgan City police and Assumption deputies all reported recent arrests on drug-related charges.

Berwick police also reported three arrests during the weekend’s Lighthouse Festival.

Berwick

Chief David S. Leonard reported these arrests:

--Caira Percle, 37, Berwick, was arrested at 2:17 a.m. Saturday on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of Tramadol and possession of drug paraphernalia.

About 1:57 a.m. Saturday, the Berwick Police Department received a call from a local business that reported that an employee was asleep in her vehicle at the business. The caller further stated that narcotics were found near the female.

Officers responded and observed a female asleep in a vehicle. During this time, methamphetamine and Tramadol pills were located in plain view. Officers made contact with the female, who was identified as Percle.

Percle was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department , where she was booked.

--Russell Blanchard Jr., 36, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:48 a.m. Nov. 3 on a Morgan City warrant alleging failure to appear.

About 11:30 a.m. Nov. 3, officers were flagged down in reference to a verbal disturbance involving Blanchard. Officers located Blanchard in the area, and a warrants check revealed that he had active warrants through the Morgan City Police Department.

Blanchard was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department for booking.

--Juvenile male, 13, was arrested at 9:39 p.m. Nov. 3 on a charge of simple criminal damage to property.

--Juvenile male, 14, was arrested at 9:39 p.m. Nov. 3 on a charge of simple criminal damage to property.

About 9:12 p.m. Nov. 3, the Berwick Police Department received about vandalism that occurred at a residence. Officers responded to the area and, through investigation, were able to identify two juveniles.

A short time later, officers were able to locate the individuals, who were placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department, where they were booked.

--Jessica Brown, 31, Houma, was arrested at 7:57 p.m. Saturday on a St. Mary Parish warrant alleging failure to appear.

About 7:40 p.m. Saturday, the Berwick Police Department received a call to remove a subject from a residence due to a disturbance. Officers responded and made contact with one of the parties involved, who was identified as Brown.

A warrants check revealed that Brown had active warrants through the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office. Brown was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department for booking.

--Michael Crouch, 37, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:17 p.m. Saturday on a charge of disturbing the peace.

--Paul Vedros, 55, Napoleonville, was arrested at 11:17 p.m. Saturday on a charge of disturbing the peace.

About 10:50 p.m. Saturday, during the Berwick Lighthouse Festival, officers were made aware of a physical altercation taking place. Officers responded, and through investigation, it was learned that Crouch and Vedros were involved along with others.

Crouch and Vedros were placed under arrest. Another subject involved was transported to a medical facility. Crouch and Vedros were transported to the Berwick Police Department for booking.

--Don Williams, 46, Patterson was arrested at 2:59 p.m. Sunday on charges of obscenity and violation of a protective order.

About 2:45 p.m. Sunday, the Berwick Police Department received a call of a disturbance taking place at a residence. Officers met with the complainant, who stated that her estranged boyfriend, Williams, was exposing himself to her children.

Officers spoke with several witnesses who were present and could corroborate the allegations against Williams. Through further investigation, it was learned that Williams currently had an active protective order against him from the complainant. Williams was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department, where he was booked on the charges of obscenity and violation of protective order.

--Louis Bourque, 37, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:28 p.m. Sunday on a Morgan City warrant alleging interfering with child custody.

About 4:28 p.m. Sunday, during the Berwick Lighthouse Festival, officers observed Bourque and knew him to have active warrants through the Morgan City Police Department. He was placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Berwick Police Department.

--Brenisson Lampson-Henriquez, 22, Mississippi, was arrested at 7:51 p.m. Sunday on charges of disturbing the peace (intoxicated) and remaining where forbidden.

About 7:50 p.m. Sunday, officers working the Berwick Lighthouse Festival were made aware of a male subject who was intoxicated and causing disturbances. Officers located and made contact with Lampson-Henriquez.

Lampson- Henriquez was told to leave the event due to the disturbances. Moments later, officers were again advised that Lampson- Henriquez was still creating disturbances with vendors and the public. Lampson- Henriquez was then placed under arrest and transported to the
Berwick Police Department.

--Sabastian Charles, 25, Berwick, was arrested at 9:03 p.m. Sunday on a charge of domestic abuse battery (child endangerment).

About 8:33 p.m. Sunday, the Berwick Police Department received a call of a physical disturbance that took place at a residence on Tournament Boulevard. Officers responded and met with the complainant- victim.

While speaking with the victim, there was physical evidence that a battery took place. Officers located and spoke with the Charles at the residence. During this time, he confirmed that a physical altercation had taken place between him and the victim.

It was learned that during the altercation, a child was present. Charles was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department.

Morgan City

Chief Chad M. Adams reported that the Morgan City Police Department responded to 41 calls for service over the last 24-hour reporting period and made this arrest:

--Chet Williams, 56, Henry Street, Patterson, was arrested at 2:24 p.m. Tuesday on charges of possession of synthetic marijuana, obstruction of justice, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, taillights required, driving under suspension, no insurance and loads on vehicles (care required).

Franklin

Chief Cedric Handy reported that the Franklin Police Department responded to five complaints over the last 24-hour reporting period and made this arrest:

--Tamia Washington, 26, Myrtle Street, Patterson, was arrested 8:42 a.m. Tuesday on Louisiana State Police warrant alleging automobile insurance policies fraud. Washington was booked, processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.

Assumption

Sheriff Leland Falcon reported this arrest:

--Florian Metrejean, 52, Freret Street, Morgan City, was booked Tuesday on Assumption Parish warrants alleging failure to appear on charges of possession of a Schedule III controlled dangerous substance, flight from an officer and aggravated flight from an officer.

Metrejean was previously arrested on felony charges failed to appear in court May 22. As a result, warrants were issued for his arrest May 30.

The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Florian Metrejean on Sept. 24 on local charges. Metrejean was transported to Assumption Parish and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center and remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
