Every version of Bloons TD has different quirks to it, one of the biggest changes in Bloons Tower Defense 6 is the addition of Monkey Knowledge.
WHAT IS MONKEY KNOWLEDGE?
Monkey Knowledge is a power-up system that allows players to upgrade or enhance their monkey turrets and powers by their subcategories, being Primary Towers, Military Towers, Magic Towers, Support Towers, Heroes and even Powers.
Players must collectKnowledge Points from levelling up in order to acquire said Monkey Knowledge.
HOW TO GET MONKEY KNOWLEDGE POINTS
Players will only begin collecting Knowledge Points when they acquire Rank 30, making it a short grind before players are able to put their first point in. From Rank 30 onwards, players will receive one Knowledge Point for each player level they increase by.
Monkey Knowledge can also be purchased in the cash shop for $0.99 USD. Similarly, players can also purchase the levels up to Rank 30, though I wouldn’t advise doing such as levelling up to Rank 30 is really easy to do.
Players will continue to gain Monkey Knowledge beyond what they need, which comes in handy for expansions and other updates to BTD6.
Players can also collet Monkey Knowledge points by completing Achievements.
HOW DOES MONKEY KNOWLEDGE WORK?
Monkey Knowledge requires players to put Monkey Knowledge points into the upgrades they wish to benefit from.
Players must begin by choosing Monkey Knowledge from the top of the Monkey Knowledge tree that they prefer.
While players will have the option of placing their Monkey Knowledge into whatever upgrades they prefer, there are some rules on the placement of their Monkey Knowledge. What do I mean by that? To select higher tier Monkey Knowledge players will have to have put a point in the previous Monkey Knowledge in that tier, signified by an arrow.
There are also some tiers of Monkey Knowledge that require players to put a significant amount of points in the knowledge tree as a whole before they put a point in Monkey Knowlege of that tier. The points required are signified on the left-hand side of the knowledge tree.
Players will also need to trade in Monkey Money, the in-game currency, to unlock certain tiers of Monkey Knowlege, though Monkey Money is an unlimited resource that can be collected simply by playing the game.
The amount of Monkey Money that needs to be spent is currently:
250 Monkey Money on the fourth row
500 Monkey Money on the fifth row
1000 Monkey Money on the sixth row
Players may want to map out what Monkey Knowledge they want to obtain before putting points into any of the categories as players will have to pay 2000 Monkey Monkey in order to reset their knowledge.
REMINDER: Do not mistake “Requires X Points” as it requires X points for a single upgrade, it simply means that X amount of points must be placed in the tree as a whole.
ALL PRIMARY MONKEY KNOWLEDGE
Primary Monkey Knowledge can affect Dart Monkeys,Boomerang Monkeys, Bomb Shooters, Tack Shooters, Ice Monkeys and Glue Gunners.
FIRST TIER OF PRIMARY MONKEY KNOWLEDGE
The following are all of the Monkey Knowledge upgrades that players will find in the first tier of Primary Monkey Knowledge.
Players will not have to pay any Monkey Money to activate these upgrades and they require no prerequisites.
FAST TACK ATTACKS
Tack Shooters gain an 8% increase in attack speed.
INCREASED LIFESPAN
Dart Monkeys, Bomb Shooters, Tack Shooters and Glue Gunners will receive an increase in projectile lifespan.
EXTRA DART POPS
Dart Monkeys gain an increase of 1 pierce, bringing their pierce total up from 2 to 3.
SECOND TIER OF PRIMARY MONKEY KNOWLEDGE
The following are all of the Monkey Knowledge upgrades that players will find in the second tier of Primary Monkey Knowledge.
Players will not have to pay any Monkey Money to activate these upgrades, though all of these upgrades will require players to unlock previous Monkey Knowledge in order to obtain them.
HARD TACKS
Tack Shooters’ tacks can now pop Frozen Bloons, making upgrades like Hot Shots much less interesting to upgrade to, though players should be aware that Hot Shots will also help players deal with lead bloons.
As fun as the Ring of Fire and Inferno Ring upgrades are on Tack Shooters, players can focus on using Overdrive and The Tack Zone, allowing other towers (specifically that have camo detection) to deal with lead bloons.
Hard Tacks requiresFast Tack Attacks before it is unlockable.
POPPY BLADES
Blade Shooters receive an upgrade by 2 pierce, bringing their total from 6 pierce to 8 pierce.
If players hope to unlock Poppy Blades they must haveFast Tack Attacks andHard Tacksunlocked first.
FAST GLUE
Glue Gunners gain a 10% increase in attack speed.
Fast Glue requires Fast Tack Attacks before it is unlockable.
FRAGGY FRAGS
Frag bombs, from Bomb Shooters, will explode into 2 extra frags, bringing the total of frags from 8 to 10.
Fraggy Frags requires Increased Lifespan before it is unlockable.
CHEAP ‘RANGS
Boomerang Throwers now cost $50 less to place in all difficulties.
Cheap ‘Rangs requires Increased Lifespanbefore it is unlockable.
CROSSBOW REACH
Dart Monkeys who have the Crossbow upgrade will gain 3 range increases making the range of the Crossbow and Sharp Shooter upgrade 59 and the Crossbow Master range 79.

THIRD TIER OF PRIMARY MONKEY KNOWLEDGE

Glue Gunners can now affect up to 8 bloons per shot. Although it may seem like a large increase for Glue Gunners, the reality is that More Splatty Glue only provides a 2 bloon increase.

BUDGET CLUSTERS
The Bomb Shooter’s Cluster Bombs upgrade costs $100 less in all game modes.

EXTRA BOUNCE
Boomerang Monkeys receive an increase in Boomerang Ricochet, increasing the pierce of Glaives, M.O.A.R. Glaives and Glaive Lord by a total of 30 ricochets.
The total amount of ricochets that can be had for a single toss is brought up to 80.

RECURRING ‘RANGS
The Recurring ‘Rangs Monkey Knowledge replaced Ambidextrous ‘Rangs, which allowed players to toggle the direction of their Boomerang Monkey.
Now Recurring ‘Rangs provides Boomerang Monkeys with the ability to throw out their Boomerang a second time if it returns to them and doesn’t use it’s max pierce.
Recurring ‘Rangs is an interesting piece of Monkey Knowledge to have as it can raise the amount of DPS from a Boomerang Monkey and luckily players will not be missing out from the loss of Ambidextrous ‘Rangs as the option to alternate hands is now implemented into every Boomerang Monkey.

4 AND 4
Dart Monkeys who have the Triple Shot upgrade will throw an extra 4th dart every 4th shot, adding an extra bit of damage for these quick shot monkeys.

FORCE VS FORCE
Dart Monkeys who have been upgraded to Juggernauts will deal 3 damage per shot to MOAB-class bloons.
Force vs Force is an extremely powerful upgrade for Juggernauts, especially as Force vs Force also applies to the 6 sub-projectiles that are launched when players upgrade their Juggernaut into the Ultra-Juggernaut.

FOURTH TIER OF PRIMARY MONKEY KNOWLEDGE
The following are all of the Monkey Knowledge upgrades that players will find in the fourth tier of Primary Monkey Knowledge.

Ice Monkey’s Permafrost upgrade slows bloons by 60% instead of 50%.
So… Cold… requires Fast Tack Attacks, Hard Tacks and Icy Chill before it is unlockable.
AVIATION GRADE GLUE
MOAB Glue upgrade now slows MOAB-class bloons by 50%, while they previously slowed MOAB-class bloons by 37.5%.
Aviation Guide Glue drastically increases the chances of shredding through MOAB-class bloons, especially for folks who don’t have too many towers up at a time.

HARD PRESS
Boomerang Monkeys with the Hard Press upgrade will now be able to push MOAB-class back by an extra 30%.

MEGA MAULER
Bomb Shooters who have been upgraded to MOAB Maulers will deal an extra 2 damage, bringing the total damage dealt up to 21, when it is initially 19. This includes both MOAB Maulers and non-ability MOAB Assassins.
MOAB Eliminators deal 82 damage instead of 80 damage.
Mega Mauler requires Fast Tack Attacks,Fast Glue, Aviation Grade Glue and Hard Pressbefore it is unlockable.
MASTER DOUBLE CROSS
Upon upgrading to Master Double Cross, players will be able to have two Crossbow Masters (the highest tier of the third option for Dart Monkeys) on the same map.

FIFTH TIER OF PRIMARY MONKEY KNOWLEDGE

BIG CRYO BLAST
Ice Monkeys who choose to upgrade to Cryo Cannon will receive an increase in blast radius.
Big Cryo Blast requires Fast Tack Attacks, Hard Tacks,Icy Chill and So… Cold… before it is unlockable.
HYPOTHERMIA
Ice Monkeys that upgrade to the Snowstorm ability will be able to freeze White and Zebra Bloons, making the Absolute Zero upgrade less pressing, useful or necessary.
Hypothermia requires Fast Tack Attacks, Hard Tacks,Icy Chill and So… Cold… before it is unlockable.
CHEAPER SOLUTIONS
Glue Gunners can upgrade their Bloon Liquefier for $1000 less.
Cheaper Solutions requires Fast Tack Attacks,Fast Glue,More Splatty Glue and Aviation Grade Glue before it is unlockable.
VIOLENT IMPACT
Bomb Shooters who have the Bloon Impact upgrade will stun bloons for 25% longer, equalling to a 1.25-second stun when players upgrade Bloon Impact and a 2.5-second stun when players upgrade to Bloon Crush.
Violent Impact requires Increased Lifespan,Fraggy Fragsand Budget Clusters before it is unlockable.
LONG TURBO
Boomerang Monkeys with the Turbo Charge ability will gain a 5-second increase, bringing the duration 15 seconds.
Note that Long Turbo will also affect the Perma Charge ability.

BONUS MONKEY!
Players will start each game with a free Dart Monkey, similar to the Monkey City upgrade.

COME ON EVERYBODY!
All Primary Towers (Dart Monkeys, Boomerang Monkeys, Bomb Shooters, Tack Shooters, Ice Monkeys and Glue Gunners) gain a 5% increase in attack speed if they are below tier 3 and will cost 5% less if all are tier 3 or 4.
Come on Everybody! is a bit of a confusing upgrade to purchase as players will have to keep tabs on all of the upgrades of their towers, focussing on powering them up all at the same time, instead of as players need.
It is recommended that players slowly upgrade their primary towers if they are hoping to make the most use out of Come on Everybody!

MORE CASH
Players will start every game mode with $200 extra cash, other than Half Cash and C.H.I.M.P.S.

Monkey Aces and Heli Pilots both receive an extra pierce per shot, making the total pierce of Monkey Aces 6 and the pierce of the Heli Pilot 4.
ELITE MILITARY TRAINING
Quite frankly the most useless knowledge players can unlock as it provides players with 1000 XP (once) upon placing a Military Monkey and will continue to give them 5% more XP.
The reason Elite Military Training is so crappy is that upon levelling up your Military Monkeys and unlocking all of their upgrades, players will no longer gain any perks from the Monkey Knowledge.
Unfortunately, but I guess also, fortunately, players will most likely level up all of their Military Monkeys before they have the opportunity to use Elite Military Training, though players will have to unlock Elite Military Training if they hope to unlock subsequent Monkey Knowledge.
EMERGENCY UNLOCK
The Emergency Unlock Monkey Knowledge provides Dartling Gunners with the ability to boost their Swivel Speed for a short amount of time.
The Emergency Unlock Monkey Knowledge is not considered an essential piece of Monkey Knowledge, however, it can come in very helpful for players who are on a map that has multiple entrances as it can be used as a quick “oh-sh*t” button in order for players to redirect their Dartling Gunner to catch bloons before they leak.
SECOND TIER OF MILITARY MONKEY KNOWLEDGE
The following are all of the Monkey Knowledge upgrades that players will find in the second tier of Military Monkey Knowledge.
Players will not have to pay any Monkey Money to activate these upgrades, though all of these upgrades will require players to unlock previous Monkey Knowledge in order to obtain them.
BIG BUNCH
Monkey Buccaneers with the Grape Shot upgrade will now shoot 6 grapes instead of 5 grapes.
Hot Grape Shots will also shoot out 6 grapes instead of 5.

ACCELERATED AERODARTS
Darts from Monkey Aces will shoot faster.
Accelerated Aerodarts requiresAirforce Upgradesbefore it is unlockable.
CERAMIC SHOCK
Sniper Monkeys will slow down ceramic bloons upon hit, effectively stunning them for about 2 seconds.
Slow effects can be spread across multiple bloons if players have the Shrapnel Shot upgrade, which fragments a Sniper Monkey’s bullets, allowing for more bloons to get damaged.
Ceramic Shock is a great way to ensure that players don’t die to ceramic bloons, especially when they do not have enough powerful towers on the field.
I will say, ceramic bloons can get out of hand, especially in Military only game modes, making Ceramic Shock a pretty decent upgrade for Sniper Monkeys.

GORGON STORM
The Gorgon Storm Monkey Knowledge allows Dartling Gunners with the Hydra Rocket Storm ability to stun damage bloons for a short amount of time.
Undeniably, the Gorgon Storm upgrade comes in very helpful, especially when players are dealing with children bloons and groups of bloons as it will provide players with some extra time to deal with bloons before they begin to leak.

THIRD TIER OF MILITARY MONKEY KNOWLEDGE
The following are all of the Monkey Knowledge upgrades that players will find in the third tier of Military Monkey Knowledge.
Players will not have to pay any Monkey Money to activate these upgrades, though all of these upgrades will require players to unlock previous Monkey Knowledge in order to obtain them.
Players will also need a minimum of 4 Monkey Knowledge points in the Military Monkey Knowledge tree in order to unlock this tier of Monkey Knowledge.
BREAKING BALLISTIC
Monkey Subs with the Ballistic Missiles do more one more damage to ceramic bloons, bringing the damage total from 5 to 6.

RAPID RAZORS
Heli Pilots with the Razor Rotors upgrade will not pop bloons 25% faster than normal.

FASTER TAKEDOWNS
Monkey Buccaneers with the Monkey Pirates upgrade will receive a 5-second cooldown on their MOAB Takedown ability, bringing the cooldown to 45 seconds instead of 50 seconds.

TARGETED PINEAPPLES
Monkey Aces with the Exploding Pineapples upgrade will no longer drop Pineapples randomly on the track and will only drop the Pineapples on/near the tracks.
For players who love using Monkey Aces, as I do, Targeted Pineapples is truly one of the best pieces of Monkey Knowledge you can get as it will allow players to avoid having to use Bomber Ace bombs so players can focus on Operation: Dart Storm instead.

EXTRA BURNY STUFF
Mortar Towers with the Burny Stuff upgrade, which places napalm (a flammable sticky substance) onto bloons, will now pop bloons every second instead of every 1.5-seconds.
As Mortar Towers gain upgrades such as Signal Flare and Shattering Shells, players will still reap the benefits of Extra Burny Stuff.
Upon upgrading the Mortar Tower(s) to Blooncineration, players will see an increase in bloon popping speed, being every half second instead of once per second.
When Mortar Towers are fully upgraded, Extra Burny Stuff really does some nasty work on bloons.
Extra Burny Stuff requiresno previous Monkey Knowledge, being the only Monkey Knowledge of this tier that needs no previous requirements. Though players do not need previous Monkey Knowledge to unlock Extra Burny Stuff, players will still need a minimum of 4 Knowledge Points in the Military Monkey Knowledge tree in order to unlock Extra Burny Stuff.
CHEAPER MAIMING
Maim MOAB, a Sniper Monkey upgrade, will cost $1000 less than normal in all difficulties, making the Sniper Monkey much more appealing for players.
Cheaper Maiming requires Elite Military Training and Ceramic Shockbefore it is unlockable.
CROSS THE STREAMS
Cross the Streams will provide Dartling Monkeys with Plasma or Doom Beams to create temporary plasma pools where their paths cross.
I truly think this is one of the most interesting pieces of Monkey Knowledge as this is one of the first times we see Monkey Knowledge that encourages players to place multiples of the same tower in order to deal more damage.

FOURTH TIER OF MILITARY MONKEY KNOWLEDGE
The following are all of the Monkey Knowledge upgrades that players will find in the fourth tier of Military Monkey Knowledge.

FLANKING MANEUVERS
The Flanking Maneuvers Monkey Knowledge will provide Snipers, Monkey Subs and Monkey Buccaneers that have their target priority set to “Last” with 10% extra attack speed.
Quite frankly, this is a very interesting piece of Monkey Knowledge as it could potentially provide players with higher DPS, though I would recommend only strategizing with this Monkey Knowledge if you have a good amount of support towers out their to deal with bloons before they leak.
Flaking Maneuvers requiresNaval Upgrades,Big Bunch,Breaking Ballistic, Faster Takedowns, Quad Burst andTrade Agreements before it is unlockable.
QUAD BURST
Monkey Subs gain an extra dart when they are upgraded with the Airburst Darts upgrade, shooting out 4 darts instead of 3.
As Triple Guns, Armour Piercing Darts and Sub Commander are also part of the Airburst Darts upgrade tree, they will also benefit from Quad Burst, shooing out 4 darts each.

TRADE AGREEMENTS
Monkey Buccaneers that have been upgraded to Merchantmen will now generate an extra $20 per round.
If Monkey Buccaneers are upgraded to the Favored Trades and Trade Empire tier they will continue to gain an extra $20 per round.

GUN COOLANT
Monkey Aces receive a 10% attack speed increase.

Mortar Monkeys can now remove camo attributes from Dark Dirigible Titans (D.D.T) when they are upgraded to the Shattering Shells upgrade.

WINGMONKEY
Wingmonkey adds a new flight path called “Wingmonkey” to all Monkey Aces, allowing it to fly in a similar way to the Aircraft Carrier upgrade, essentially providing players with a more targetted flight path that allows for staggering attacks.
Wingmonkey helps ensure that your Monkey Aces affect the most area without the worry of having to time them.
Wingmonkey requires Airforce Upgrade, Accelerated Aerodarts,Targeted Pineapples,Gun CoolantandAeronautic Subsidybefore it is unlocked.
CHARGED CHINOOKS
Heli Pilots that have been upgraded to Support Chinooks will now drop 25% more lives and cash, bringing their total money drops to $1875-$3125 or between 63-94 lives, also effecting Special Poperations which provide twice as much cash and lives as the normal Chinook.

BUDGET BATTERY
Mortar Monkeys‘ Artillery Battery costs $600 less in all difficulties.
Budget Battery requiresExtra Burny Stuff and Paint Stripper before it is unlockable.

MO’ MONKEY MONEY
Quite possibly the most important Monkey Knowledge players can get is Mo’ Monkey Money as acquiring it will allow players to collect 10% more Monkey Money from each of their game wins on any difficulty.
Players will receive more Monkey Money on their Daily Challenges and any maps or events that provide players with Monkey Money. Though, players should be aware that on game modes such as C.H.I.M.P.S. will not provide players with extra Monkey Money as players will not have access to Monkey Knowledge. Similarly, if players are practicing without Monkey Knowledge, they will not reap the benefits of this spectacular Monkey Knowledge.

ACID STABILITY

THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE
Super Monkeys that have been upgraded to the True Sun God can now be transformed into the Avatar of the Vengeful Monkey.
Players must sacrifice both The Anti-Bloon and Legend of the Night, which are both final tier versions of the Super Monkey, making the Avatar of the Vengeful Monkey the most expensive tower players can access in all of Bloons Tower Defense 6.
Steps to Summon the Avatar of the Vengeful Monkey:
Start out by maxing out your Sun Temple, which requires players to spend $50,000 on each tower class being: Primary, Military, Magic and Support.
Players must then spend an additional $50,000 in each tower class after the Sun Temple has been upgraded.
Players can then place The Anti-Bloon and Legend of the Night Monkeys out of range of the Sun Temple.
Players must then upgrade their Sun Temple into the True Sun God which will consume both towers, providing players with even more damage than players would have gotten from simply getting the regular True Sun God upgrade.
Note:Players cannot access the Avatar of the Vengeful Monkey in Sandbox mode.
There Can Be Only One requires Super Range, Heavy Knockback and Strike Down the False before it is unlockable.
VINE RUPTURE
Druids with the final upgrade, Spirit of the Forest, gain a new ability that bursts all track vines causing big amounts of damage to all non-lead bloons.
The biggest perk to having Vine Rupture is the fact that new vines regrow after every rupture, each dealing 150 damage and stunning bloons by 10-seconds.
The cooldown of Vine Rupture is 60-seconds.
Vine Rupture requires Lingering Magic,Hot Magic,Warm Oakand Cold Front before it is unlockable.

Spike Factory stacks get an extra spike allowing them to pop 6 bloons by default instead of 5.
Once players upgrade to Bigger stacks they will drop 11 spikes instead of 10.
Spiked Balls, Spiked Mines and Super Mines will have 17 spikes instead of 16 and Perma-Spikes will have between 51-71 instead of 50-70.

Banana Farms with the Valuable Bananas upgrade will now provide players with 30% more valuable bananas instead of 25% more valuable bananas.

If players upgrade their Banana Farms with both the Banana Research Facilities and Valuable Bananas upgrade they will receive $390 per stack instead of $375.
Banana Central’s crates provide players with $1530 instead of $1500.
While it might not seem like a big increase in cash, the reality is that the More Valuable Bananas Monkey Knowlege provides an exponential increase in cash, especially if players get a Banana Farm with decent upgrades early on.

SIXTH TIER OF HERO MONKEY KNOWLEDGE
The following are all of the Monkey Knowledge upgrades that players will find in the sixth tier of Hero Monkey Knowledge.
Players will have to pay 1000 Monkey Money to activate these upgrades, and all of these upgrades will require players to unlock previous Monkey Knowledge in order to obtain them.
Players will also need a minimum of 8 Monkey Knowledge points in the Hero Monkey Knowledge tree in order to unlock this tier of Monkey Knowledge.
MONKEYS TOGETHER STRONG
The Monkeys Together Strong Monkey Knowledge provides Heroes with 5% more experience for each Hero placed, making this essential in Co-Op as players can effectively provide players with a lot of extra experience when all players have placed a Hero.
Monkeys Together Strong requires More ‘Splody,Scholarships,Self Taught Heroes,Hero Favours and Empowered Monkeys before it is unlockable.
WEAK POINT
All Heroes deal an extra point of damage to ceramic and fortified bloons, benefitting Adora, Captain Churchill, Gwendolin and Quincy the most.

Tech Bot gains a targeting option that triggers only when bloons enter a specific part of the track.

PRE-GAME PREP
Players will start each game with a pile of Road Spikes placed at the end of the track.
Tracks with multiple exits will have multiple stacks of Road Spikes on them and each will contain 21 spikes.

The Grand Prix Spree will provide players with the ability to pay 10% less for any of the Races they enter that are not free.
As someone who loves Race Events, this is a great piece of Monkey Knowledge as saving 10 Monkey Money adds up over time.

I DON’T LIKE MONKEY KNOWLEDGE, CAN I TURN IT OFF?
Advanced players may want to prepare themselves for C.H.I.M.P.S. mode, making practicing regular maps with Monkey Knowledge a bit of a hindrance.
Well, for players who like an extra bit of challenge or are trying to get some hours in before they give C.H.I.M.P.S. a nice long grind, you can find a toggle button by the Monkey Knowledge tree.
Toggling this button will not change any of the difficulties of the bloons maps, however, it will revert all monkeys to their base damage.
