Story[]

The game's story is presented through its Story Mode.

One night, GingerBrave is seen running away from a variety of Monsters inside the Witch's house, when he encounters someone named the Sugar Star. The Sugar Star shows GingerBrave a legend of a hero with a "brave heart", who was destined to go to The Pancake Tower and stop the forces of darkness from taking over. As the Sugar Star tries to escort GingerBrave out of the house, they get kidnapped by a suit of armor named Frank, and lose a lot of their vitality despite being saved.

Before they pass out, they send GingerBrave to the first floor of the Pancake Tower, the Jolly Jelly Forest. There, GingerBrave encounters Twisted Donut Cookie, who is busy trying to fix the train. GingerBrave tries talking with him, but is told to go find Star Coal before he considers doing so. After finding some in Stage 1-1, Twisted Donut Cookie lets GingerBrave ride shotgun in his train, where GingerBrave tells him where he needs to go.

After going to find Star Coal again, GingerBrave encounters Cherry Cookie, and brings her onto the train; she talks heavily about throwing bombs around. After some more traveling through Jolly Jelly Forest, GingerBrave talks about the legend the Sugar Star told him, when Muscle Cookie and Angel Cookie appear and suddenly join the team by fare dodging. From there, the group heads to the Happy Flower, who is suddenly a lot angrier than normal.

After beating the Happy Flower, the group heads to the next floor, the Windy Peanut Wilds. The group finds a poster about the mayor of Peanut Parnish and set out to find the town. They then run into Rye Cookie, who tells them about the bounty on the Hangsters, of which she is trying to collect. Before being able to reach Peanut Parnish, however, the group has a run-in with Barb & Konn, who are this floor's boss.

The gang then arrive in floor 3, being Peanut Parnish, only to discover that it's not what you'd think of when you imagine a town. With all the residents being forced to work constantly. After going through the town, fighting Hangsters and freeing the residents (Peanut hamsters), they find Cactor, the town mayor, who is not behaving like himself (he is now behaving rude and greedy), after fighting him, he is then returned back to normal and apologizes for his actions while corrupted (possibly due to the oven's influence) and promises the gang that they can come back to the town whenever they want with open arms and Rye Cookie disbands from the group and does not claim the bounty due to the fact that "The Cactor that set up the bounty is no longer here."

Following Peanut Parnish, the group head to the next floor, the Abandoned Candy Mines. The group travels through in search of the guardian Cookies, in spite of Twisted Donut's fear of the place. Along the way, GingerBrave and Muscle Cookie come across two potions and drink them, mistaking them for drinks. This causes GingerBrave to become delirious and Muscle Cookie to become very sensitive.

Shortly after, Alchemist Cookie shows up to explain that those "drinks" were Flavor Reversal Potions, which she had hoped to use to change her brother's lazy attitude. She says the drinks were designed to be permanent, but a cure may exist if the group finds a specific kind of flower known as a Floratz. As the group searches for the Floratz, they eventually encounter Berry Bat, who attacks them provoked. Once the Berry Bat is defeated, they find a pathway that they hope leads to the Floratz. Gameplay[]

There are currently 6 game modes in CookieRun: Tower of Adventures.

Story Mode[]

Cookie Run: Tower of Adventures (9)

Story Mode is the main mode of the game, involving GingerBrave's adventures into The Pancake Tower to seal the Oven shut. It can be played with either 1 or 2 players.

In this game mode, all the levels are constructed in stages and chapters, with each stage having 3 objectives to them. If these objectives are met, 1-3 pieces of Star Coal are given depending on how many objectives have been satisfied. In-game, the Star Coal is used by Twisted Donut Cookie to power the Star Coal Express, which is the train he conducts. If all Star Coal is found within a chapter, Basic Cookie Tickets are given as rewards.

Bear Jellies can be found in each stage, sometimes as mission objectives, and other times as rewards. These can then be exchanged at the Bear Jelly Exchange for a certain number of items, with each chapter having a different type of Bear Jelly to collect and different items to purchase.

When a stage is completed, various rewards are given in two categories; first rewards, and repeat rewards. First rewards are given upon the first completion of a given stage, while repeat rewards are the rewards given any other time the stage is beaten.

Raid Mode[]

Cookie Run: Tower of Adventures (11)

Raid Mode is a multiplayer game mode, involving fighting alongside other players to defeat a specific boss. So far, only three bosses have been revealed; Barb & Konn, Berry Bat and Shamonkey.

There are four difficulty levels to each Raid boss, indicated by Roman Numerals. Each difficulty has a different minimum power level required before you can play, along with a Season Rule. When first entering Raid Mode, there is also a Lobby where other players can be invited to join, up to a party of 4. When cycling through the four difficulty levels, the layout and music in this lobby also change; Difficulty I has a green sky with calm music playing, Difficulty II has a blue sky with a slow drum added, Difficulty III has a purple sky with vocals added, and Difficulty IV has the forest set ablaze with ominous bass added.

Glass Labyrinth[]

Cookie Run: Tower of Adventures (12)

During the November 17, 2023 open beta testing period, a locked game mode titled Glass Labyrinth was revealed.

During the January 19, 2024 closed beta testing period, the Glass Labyrinth game mode was available and could be unlocked after clearing Story Mode stage 4-5. In this single-player game mode, the player faces up to 3 stages of enemies, each enemy giving a buff depending on specific elements used. A player can use up to two Cookies each stage. Each Cookie can be used for only one stage.

There are currently two sections to the Glass Labyrinth game mode: Labyrinth of Remembrance: Hall of Discipline and Labyrinth of Trials: Hall of Succession. A player must first complete Labyrinth of Remembrance: Hall of Discipline in order to access Labyrinth of Trials: Hall of Succession.

Labyrinth of Remembrance: Hall of Discipline has 10 trials while Labyrinth of Remembrance: Hall of Discipline has 5 trials.Discipline trials I-III have 1 stage, IV-VII have two stages, and VIII-X have three stages.Succession trials I-V all have 3 stages.

Oddly enough, when opening trials in Labyrinth of Remembrance: Hall of Discipline, they are titled "Labyrinth of Trials" and vice-versa for trials in Labyrinth of Remembrance: Hall of Discipline. These were likely swapped on accident.

Champions Raid[]

During the November 17, 2023 open beta testing period, a locked game mode titled Champions Raid was revealed. This game mode remained locked during the January 19, 2024 closed beta testing period. It is currently unknown what this game mode entails as it is still not available upon release.

Guild[]

During the November 17, 2023 open beta testing period, a locked game mode titled Guild was revealed. This game mode remained locked during the January 19, 2024 closed beta testing period. However it was available upon release. A guild can contain up to five players and each player can request resources from other members, namely Heart Jellys.

Other Mechanics[]

In the game's lobby is a mechanic for passive rewards, known as Blueberry Bird's Treasure Trove. The Blueberry Bird will collect items over time, which can be collected after a few minutes for rewards; the longer the player waits, the more rewards will be given, and the bag in-game will increase from a coin coffer, to a shopping bag, and finally to a suitcase. When the bag has just recently been claim, a Blueberry Bird will be seen on it sleeping, getting a coin dropped on its head every 10 seconds.

This feature became locked during the January 19, 2024 closed beta testing period for unknown reasons.

This feature is no longer present as of the time of release (25th June, 2024)

Pre-release[]

Cookie Run: Tower of Adventures (56)

Prior to the game's first official trailer, it was known in promotional material as Project B.

During the Google Play Games summit from November 17, 2023, to November 26, 2023 (GMT +9), an open playtest was released for all users via the Google Play Games beta app. It featured the first two floors of the Pancake Tower, two Raid Mode bosses (Berry Bat and Shamonkey), and a total of six available Cookies. If the player beat the entirety of the available story mode, they were then given an award of 1,000 Cookie Ascension Stones, 200 Basic Draw Tickets, and 10 million coins. During the Mobile summit from January 19, 2024 to February 4, 2024 (GMT +9), a closed playtest was released for selected users via the Google Play store (Android) and TestFlight (iOS). It featured the previous first two floors as well as an additional two floors of the Pancake Tower, one new Raid boss (Barb & Konn) as well as a renewed boss (Berry Bat), and a total of ten available Cookies.
